Morton is a city in Cochran County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,249 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Cochran County. Geography and Points of InterestMorton is located at 33°43′29″N 102°45′27″W / 33.724705°N 102.757516°W. at an altitude of approximately 3,800 feet above mean sea level. The center of the City of Morton (location of the County Courthouse) lies adjacent to the Northwest corner of the intersection of State Highways 114 and 214. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.7 km), all of it land, except for Strickland Lake, located on the southwestern side of the city. Approximately 20 miles to the north of Morton, along highway 214 is the Muleshoe National Wildlife Refuge, home to a large Sandhill Crane migration each autumn, and year round home to a sizable prarie dog town. Approximately 20 miles to the west of Morton, just over the state line near Lingo, New Mexico is Buffalo Soldier's Hill. This historical mound is the scene where Troop A, 10th Cavalry, had gone out in pursuit of Comanche warriors. The soldiers had inadequate water supplies and some of them died either at the hill or during a long, hot search for water. Some suggest the hill was not a death site but merely the point on their journey where the pursuit of Comanches was abandoned in favor of the search for water. [1] From Wikipedia under the

Q. I live in Texas and my boyfriend and I are going to fly to NY for my 21st birthday to have dinner and stay in a semi-upscale. I have been to NYC 2 times, the first time I stayed in Hotel Pennsylvania and the second time we stayed in Marriott Lower East Side on Lexington Ave. I want to say. Some restaurants that I have eaten in before up there are, Morton's Steakhouse, Dock's Seafood and Amy Ruth's. All of these places were okay, I just want something really memorable and nice. As of right now price is not an issue, just not something crazy expensive. What are some restaurants and hotels that you would suggest?
